At pearl divers unawatuna, we have a team of diving certified diving instructors who can guide and help you to achieve your diving goals and much more.

You can enjoy perfect diving experiences from the end of October to the end of April here in the southern coast of Sri Lanka and from May to October on the eastern coast of Sri Lanka.

Unawatuna is one of the most popular destinations for travelers who visit Sri Lanka. The beautiful 2 kilometer long, white sandy bay is lined with coconut palms, small restaurants, and local handicraft shops. Sumith Wijesena, manager & owner of the Unawatuna Pearl Divers & Water Sport Centre is certified in Germany and has over 22 years diving experience. Sumith gained valuable experience by setting up and managing another dive centre in Unawatuna before branching out and setting up on his own with his talented team of certified divers at the Unawatuna Pearl Divers & Water Sport Centre.

The Dive Centre, as it is locally referred to is located at Unawatuna Bay which is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The Dive Center is only short drive away from the Unesco World Heritage Site, Galle Fort. From Colombo you can us reach us within a 50 minutes drive through the Southern Highway.

For those who don’t dive we have lots of other pursuits to keep you occupied and entertained such as snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, boat tours, whale and dolphin watching, jet skis & water skiing. Kids and adults alike will love the glass bottom boat adventure and the turtle safari. If it is all too much you can just relax on one of our sunbeds and watch the sun go down over the temple at Roomasala head.

We have a brand new whale watching boat and can arrange daily private boat rental with your own captain. You can go beach hopping or just sail around and anchor in one of the beautiful bays while you have a picnic and a swim in the warm clear turquoise water of the Indian Ocean.

It should make you feel good to know that 15% of our boat profits go to a local charity “The Dog Care Clinic“ in Mihirpenna, Thalpe.
